In partnership with Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, the SETA Foundation at Washington DC hosts a week-long leadership program held in Washington DC. The program was designed to provide the participants with a greater understanding of US foreign policy in order to better equip them to support US-Turkey relations in the future.
Through this program, the student ambassadors were exposed to myriad perspectives on US foreign policy and rationale behind US actions, both domestically and abroad. Speaking with experts from think tanks, consulting firms, and government organizations, as well as SETA DC’s own experts, the program participants gained new insight into the inner workings of the US government and US-based organizations. They had the opportunity to visit and speak with Congressional staffers and USIP advisors, not only learning about foreign policy, but also the roles of different positions with the organizations and the career paths that led these experts to where they are today.
