The Future of US Policy on Syria
November 6, 2019
10:30am – 12:00pm
President Trump’s recent decision to withdraw from Syria in the wake of Turkey’s operation in the north of the country has triggered a passionate debate about U.S. policy. While the US counterterrorism campaign against ISIS had its successes, Turkey has seen the policy of supporting the YPG directly undermining the strategic and national security interests of its NATO ally. As the US announced a limited continued presence around oil fields to deny ISIS valuable resources, the future of US policy towards Syria and the Middle East as a whole remains uncertain.
Join the SETA Foundation at Washington DC as we discuss the future of the US policy on Syria.
