Event Summary: A Private Roundtable on Turkish-American Relations
Turkish-American relations are at a critical juncture as the U.S. withdrawal from Syria is underway. The two NATO allies seek to implement the Manbij roadmap, to ensure no power vacuum results from the U.S. departure, and to establish a safe zone in northeast Syria that would satisfy Turkish security concerns. Can the two countries find a new momentum to improve bilateral relations with common interests in Syria? How will current developments shape Turkish-American relations in 2019 and beyond?
The SETA Foundation at Washington D.C. held an off-the-record roundtable discussion on Turkish-American relations with a Turkish delegation of parliamentarians from ruling and opposition parties in Turkey.
